Patrick Clisham of Engelman Berger, PC Elected to ABI’s Board of Directors

Alexandria, Va. — The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) announces that Patrick Clisham of Engelman Berger, PC (Phoenix) has been elected to ABI’s Board of Directors. An ABI member since 2006, Clisham is the education director of ABI’s Ethics and Professional Compensation Committee and a member of 11 other ABI Committees, a frequent contributor to the “Benchnotes” column in the ABI Journal and a frequent speaker at ABI events. He will serve a term of three years on the 60-member ABI Board of Directors.

Clisham has extensive experience representing clients in complex corporate transactions, including loan documentation and restructurings, asset acquisitions and sales, lease negotiations and enforcement, and business transactions. His experience primarily derives from his more than 13 years of representing secured and unsecured creditors, corporate debtors, trustees and examiners in corporate bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court workouts.

Clisham joined Engelman Berger in 2009 after relocating from Chicago. His prior practice experience includes his time as an associate at Shaw Fishman Glantz & Towbin LLC in Chicago (2004-09) and as an extern with the Office of the U.S. Trustee in Chicago (2002). Clisham is also a former commodities futures trader and was a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange from 1996-2001. In addition, he previously served as an assistant vice president of Law & Government Affairs for AT&T Communications from 2002-04.
