Lauren Berret of Eisner Advisory Group, LLC Selected as One of ABI's 2024 "40 Under 40"
Alexandria, Va.— ABI announces that Lauren Berret of Eisner Advisory Group, LLC (Philadelphia) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s award program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony on Dec. 13 during ABI’s 2024 Winter Leadership Conference at The Phoenician Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Berret is a director in Eisner Advisory Group’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Services Group. Based at the firm’s Philadelphia office, she has more than 10 years of experience in restructuring and investigative advisory services, focusing on distressed companies, unsecured creditors, senior lenders, and trustees in the middle-market. Berret also provides forensic accounting and litigation-support services, drawing on her experience as a CPA. Throughout her career, she has been part of the bankruptcy and restructuring groups at several national accounting and advisory firms, and she has served as a financial advisor to numerous unsecured creditors’ committees and liquidating trustees. Prior to providing advisory services, Berret spent four years practicing law as a consumer bankruptcy attorney, representing debtors in chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy proceedings. From 2011-14, she operated her own law firm, representing consumer debtors and providing pro bono services.
Berret is serving her second term as chair of IWIRC’s Greater Philadelphia Network, and she has served multiple terms as a board member of TMA’s Philadelphia/Wilmington Chapter, for which she was elected DE&I Committee chair. As a member of the TMA Global DE&I Committee, she drafted the Governance section of the organization’s DE&I Playbook, which serves as a resource and a roadmap for other chapters’ DE&I initiatives.
Berret devotes her spare time to student outreach, having participated in a “Careers in Bankruptcy Law” panel at Temple Law with other prominent members of the local bankruptcy bar. Under her leadership, IWIRC’s Greater Philadelphia Network hosted recruiting programs at Rutgers-Camden Law and Temple Law designed to educate law students about careers in the bankruptcy and restructuring sectors. She also is a strong believer in equal access to education and spends time supporting the efforts of City Year Philadelphia, an AmeriCorps national service program dedicated to creating more equitable access to educational opportunities for students in systemically under-resourced schools.
“We are honored to celebrate the exceptional leaders within the 2024 class as they continue to make a significant impact both in their practice and in their communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “As bankruptcy practice continues to evolve, this diverse collection of honorees will propel ABI and the insolvency community forward.”
The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Now in its eighth year, the goal of ABI’s “40 Under 40” award program is not simply to create a one-time ceremony, but to fully engage those selected as future leaders in the insolvency profession and to build on the initiative each year.
