Adam Searles of AlixPartners, LLP Selected as One of ABI's 2024 "40 Under 40"

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Adam Searles of AlixPartners, LLP (New York) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s award program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony on Dec. 13 during ABI’s 2024 Winter Leadership Conference at The Phoenician Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Searles is a partner in the Turnaround & Restructuring Services practice at AlixPartners, LLP in New York. He has more than 14 years of restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, financial advisory and accounting experience across numerous industries. Searles’ advisory experience includes assisting both companies and creditors through workout situations and has covered all areas of the restructuring process, including liquidity management, business plan development, due diligence, creditor negotiations, financial planning and sale of assets. A CPA, he began his career at KPMG as an auditor, where he specialized in providing services to investment management clients. In 2024, Searles took on his first interim-management role as a Deputy Chief Transition Officer.

In 2023, Searles was recognized with the Rising Star of the Profession award by Consulting Magazine. He also received an Achievement in Excellence Award from the firm in 2023 for his work on the FTX engagement, and his work on Avaya in 2018 was recognized by the Turnaround Management Association for Transaction of the Year: Mega Company. In addition, Searles has received awards for his role as an AlixCoach and his role in support of onboarding the firm’s new class of junior consultants, including the Culture Carrier Award for being someone who lives the AlixPartners core values. He also was nominated by junior colleagues and received an Achievement in Excellence Award (2020) for his mentorship and development of those individuals.

Searles serves as recruitment co-chair of United Jewish Appeal’s (UJA) NextGen Restructuring Committee, which is comprised of 100 restructuring professionals, including fund managers, investment bankers, financial advisors, lawyers, turnaround professionals, claims agents and communication professionals who are rising stars and young leaders in the industry. The committee is focused on raising crucial funds so that UJA can respond quickly and effectively to the most pressing issues of the day — in New York, in Israel and around the world. In addition, Searles serves on the board of the Community Initiative for Holocaust Survivors Allocation Committee, working with others on the board to review annual business plans and decide which organizations to allocate crucial funds to in order to support living Holocaust survivors.

“We are honored to celebrate the exceptional leaders within the 2024 class as they continue to make a significant impact both in their practice and in their communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “As bankruptcy practice continues to evolve, this diverse collection of honorees will propel ABI and the insolvency community forward.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Now in its eighth year, the goal of ABI’s “40 Under 40” award program is not simply to create a one-time ceremony, but to fully engage those selected as future leaders in the insolvency profession and to build on the initiative each year.
